Manor House and Finsbury Park Air Quality Programme for Schools’ Legacy Project
This project was created in conjunction the three boroughs involved as a way to leave a lasting legacy for the schools involved and for the local authorities in terms of a film which details the work that took place, highlighting protection strategies and helping to raise awareness of the benefits of more active travel. Pupil led mapping work took place to establish realistic walking zones and on-street launch events and assemblies were planned and delivered by pupils. The schools involved now have walking zone pocket maps, banners and polyboards to help establish an ethos of walking at their schools. A celebration event took place at the end which involved a walk through the streets on Finsbury Park with banners and flags, a celebratory lunch and activity at Islington’s Ecology Centre, a screening of the film and a tour of the Emirates stadium to reward pupils commitment and hard work.
