Nick joined PWLC Projects to manage the Modeshift STARS National School Travel Awards scheme. He has worked on sustainable transport projects for over thirteen years. From 2008 to 2015 he worked on Darlington Borough Council’s Sustainable Travel Demonstration Town, Cycle Demonstration Town and Local Sustainable Transport Fund projects where he was specifically responsible for the school engagement packages of work. For two of those years he served the Department for Transport and Department of Education as the Regional School Travel Advisor for the North East and Yorkshire & The Humber Regions. He was also a member of the Modeshift Management Board over the same period and held the position of Vice Chair from 2011 to 2015.
Nick worked alongside the Chair of Modeshift to develop the Modeshift STARS scheme in order to create the system that is in existence today. As National Modeshift STARS Manager, he is coordinating the expansion of the Modeshift STARS scheme to schools and local authorities across the country. He has also recently taken over responsibility for overseeing the expansion and further development of the Modeshift STARSfor scheme.
